Pakora
Ingredients:(Serves – 4)
- Chickpea flour (besan) – 1 cup
- Vegetables (onion, potato, cauliflower, spinach, or mix) – 2 cups, thinly sliced or chopped
- Green chili – 1, finely chopped (optional)
- Ginger – 1 tsp, grated
- Cumin seeds – 1 tsp
- Carom seeds (ajwain) – ½ tsp (optional)
- Salt – to taste
- Water – as needed to make batter
- Oil – for deep frying
Method:
- In a mixing bowl, combine chickpea flour, cumin seeds, ajwain, chopped green chili, grated ginger, and salt.
- Gradually add water to form a thick, smooth batter.
- Add the sliced or chopped vegetables to the batter and mix until they are well coated.
- Heat oil in a deep pan for frying.
- Drop spoonfuls of the batter-coated vegetables into hot oil. Fry on medium heat until golden brown and crisp.
- Remove and drain on paper towels.
- Serve hot with green chutney or ketchup.
