Jaljeera

Ingredients

  • Water – 4 Cups
  • Fresh Mint Leaves – 1 Cup
  • Fresh Coriander Leaves – 1/2 Cup
  • Roasted Cumin Powder – 2 Teaspoons                          
  • Black Salt – 1 1/2 Teaspoons
  • Tamarind Pulp – 2 Tablespoons
  • Lemon Juice – 2 Tablespoons
  • Ginger – 1 Inch Piece
  • Green Chilli – 1 Small
  • Chaat Masala – 1 Teaspoon
  • Black Pepper Powder – 1/2 Teaspoon
  • Salt – 1/2 Teaspoon
  • Sugar – 1 Teaspoon
  • Boondi – 1/2 Cup
  • Ice Cubes – As Required

 

Method

 

  • Add mint leaves, coriander leaves, ginger, green chilli, tamarind pulp, and a little water to a blender.
  • Blend the ingredients into a smooth paste.
  • Transfer the paste to a large jug and add the remaining water.
  • Add roasted cumin powder, black salt, chaat masala, black pepper powder, salt, sugar, and lemon juice.
  • Mix everything thoroughly until well combined.
  • Strain the mixture if a smoother consistency is preferred.
  • Refrigerate the jaljeera for at least 30 minutes before serving.
  • Pour into glasses, add boondi and ice cubes, and serve chilled.

 

Prep Time – 10 mins.                Cook Time – 5 mins.              Total Time – 15 mins.
