Ingredients (Serves – 4)
- Firm Tofu – 400 Gms, Cubed.
- Cornflour – 3 Tbsp.
- All Purpose Flour – 2 Tbsp.
- Black Pepper Powder – 1/2 Tsp.
- Salt – To Taste.
- Oil – 3 Tbsp.
- Onion – 1 Large, Cubed.
- Capsicum – 1 Large, Cubed.
- Green Chillies – 2, Slit.
- Garlic – 5 Cloves, Finely Chopped.
- Ginger – 1 Tbsp, Finely Chopped.
- Spring Onion Greens – 2 Tbsp, Chopped.
For The Sauce
- Soy Sauce – 2 Tbsp.
- Red Chilli Sauce – 1 Tbsp.
- Tomato Ketchup – 1 Tbsp.
- Vinegar – 1 Tsp.
- Cornflour Slurry – 1 Tbsp Cornflour Mixed With 3 Tbsp Water.
- Water – 1/2 Cup.
Method
- Press The Tofu Gently To Remove Excess Moisture And Cut Into Medium Cubes.
- In A Bowl, Mix Cornflour, All Purpose Flour, Black Pepper Powder, And Salt.
- Coat The Tofu Cubes Evenly In The Flour Mixture.
- Heat Oil In A Pan And Shallow Fry The Tofu Until Crisp And Golden On All Sides.
- Remove The Fried Tofu And Set Aside.
- In The Same Pan, Add Garlic, Ginger, Green Chillies, Onion, And Capsicum.
- Stir Fry On High Heat For 2–3 Minutes Until Slightly Crunchy.
- In A Small Bowl, Combine Soy Sauce, Red Chilli Sauce, Tomato Ketchup, Vinegar, And Water.
- Pour The Sauce Mixture Into The Pan And Bring To A Gentle Simmer.
- Add The Cornflour Slurry And Stir Continuously Until The Sauce Thickens Slightly.
- Add The Fried Tofu And Toss Well Until Fully Coated In The Sauce.
- Garnish With Spring Onion Greens And Serve Hot With Fried Rice Or Noodles.
