Bel(Wood Apple) Sharbat

Ingredients    (Serves – 4)

 

  • Ripe Bel Fruit – 1 Large
  • Chilled Water – 4 Cups
  • Sugar – 6 Tablespoons
  • Lemon Juice – 1 Tablespoon                                           
  • Ice Cubes – As Required
  • Fresh Mint Leaves – For Garnish

 

Method

 

  • Crack open the ripe bel fruit and scoop out the pulp into a large bowl.
  • Add 2 cups of water to the pulp and mash it thoroughly using your hands or a spoon.
  • Strain the mixture through a sieve to remove seeds and fibers.
  • Transfer the strained pulp to a large jug.
  • Add sugar and lemon juice to the pulp mixture.
  • Pour in the remaining chilled water and stir well until the sugar dissolves completely.
  • Taste and adjust sweetness if required.
  • Pour the bel sharbat into glasses filled with ice cubes.
  • Garnish with fresh mint leaves and serve chilled.
